After 13 years as Chairman of the British Women Racing Drivers’ Club (BWRDC), Helen Bashford-Malkie is to step down at the AGM of the BWRDC on 9th April 2013. This is in order for Helen to concentrate on setting up the proposed International Woman Racing Driver of the Year Championship in 2014 with a global sponsor & hopefully a substantial injection of funds towards the following year’s race programme for the winner. Helen has seen the club through two significant anniversaries the 40th & 50th, with many innovations over the years the most significant being the BWRDC GoldStars Awards which flag up female talent within motorsport (www.bwrdc.co.uk & www.bwrdc-goldstars.co.uk). She will also be looking forward to competing in our Chevron Celebration Class at Shelsley Walsh on 1st & 2nd June sharing Chevron Works Hillclimb driver Keith Harris’ Chevron B25.
